Canadian Utilities (CU) provides longstanding support to Indigenous organizations and initiatives that contribute to sustainable economic and social development of Indigenous communities near our global operations.
We believe our investment in the education and opportunities of young Indigenous leaders is the key to the future. CU believes in supporting the dreams and goals of our youth as we ultimately benefit from their leadership and energy in the future. Go to our Training and Development page for more information on these programs for Indigenous communities.
We support talented, young athletes as they pursue their best at sporting events including the Arctic Winter Games, the North American Indigenous Games, the Circumpolar Northern Games and the Inuit Circumpolar Council Northern Games.
CU also invests in a multitude of events and initiatives that preserve and honour the many unique Indigenous cultures. Events such as National Aboriginal Day in Canada, National Aboriginal and Islander Week in Australia, the Canadian Truth and Reconciliation Commission and National Aboriginal and Islander Day Observance Committee (NAIDOC) Week in Australia (pictured above) bring people together to raise awareness, learn, heal and celebrate together.
