Millions raised for charity

The ATCO EPIC program is a grassroots initiative involving employee-led committees that plan, implement and administer workplace fundraising campaigns within the ATCO group of Companies, which includes Canadian Utilities (CU). The program combines fundraising events, auctions, friendly team competitions and employee pledges that support more than 500 charitable and non-profit organizations. In 2015, ATCO employees raised $3.6 million.

CU matches employee donations

Employees are given the option to donate to the charity of their choice, thereby giving them the opportunity to make a difference in their own community. CU then matches employee donations to human health and wellness charities, which effectively helps to increase the impact in these communities. CU covers all administration costs, ensuring that 100 per cent of the funds raised go directly toward the benefiting organizations.

CU employees volunteering their time

ATCO EPIC also recognizes employees who volunteer their time and share their talents with charitable and non-profit organizations. Every year employees volunteering 50 hours or more are eligible to apply for a donation to a registered charity of their choice. In 2015, CU employees volunteered nearly 20,000 hours to make our communities a better place to work and live.
